Volunteers are at the core of the Dublin Simon Community’s work

“Sometimes people who are homeless appear invisible to us but one thing we have to change is our approach towards them. Something as simple as asking ‘Hi, How are you?’ can make the world of difference. It has been an experience of a lifetime.” – Iury

We have an extensive full-time volunteering programme here in the Dublin Simon Community. Currently the Dublin Simon Community have up to 60 full-time volunteer placements throughout our Housing, Emergency, Treatment and Support Services. The approach to full-time volunteering has an emphasis on reflective practice and both formal and non-formal learning.

Volunteer with Dublin Simon Community

For over 55 years, Dublin Simon has been providing solutions to homelessness and its related issues. We provide services to people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, from emergency accommodation to treatment and supported housing.

Volunteers are at the core of the Dublin Simon Community’s work. They work alongside professional staff to deliver vital services to people who are homeless. While Dublin Simon is well known for our nightly volunteer Soup Run, we also do a huge amount that people might not know about.

Particularly, our Full-Time volunteers are an integral part of quality service delivery. The commitment and enthusiasm they bring to our services make Dublin Simon Community a better place for staff and people using our services.
