Simon House of Light to Dazzle Dublin with the Help of Star Guest
The Simon House of Light Show is back for its 8th year and will launch with the help of a very special celebrity guest at 6pm this Thursday 05 December at Powerscourt Townhouse Centre on South William Street.
The three-day festival will run from 5pm – 10pm on Thursday 5th, Friday 6th and Saturday 7th December and will project an animated Christmas story on to the facade of Powerscourt Townhouse Centre. The magical light show, which will run throughout the festival, will be accompanied by a host of musical performances on the steps of the centre each night.
Music acts from previous years include: The Blizzards, Danny from The Coronas, The Strypes, Ryan Sheridan, Keywest and many more. Acts for 2019 will be announced on Dublin Simon Community’s social media (Facebook, Instagram & Twitter @Dublin_Simon) in the lead up to the event launch.
While the Simon House of Light will radiate festive fun and good cheer, the event aims to bring people together to highlight the issue of homelessness and donations will be welcomed on-site throughout the festival.
Sponsored by The Irish Times, Powerscourt Townhouse Centre and BBDO Dublin, the Simon House of Lightshow is a celebration of the national Simon House of Cards Appeal, which aims to raise much-needed funds for the homelessness charity.
The annual Christmas appeal allows companies to make donations in support of people who are experiencing homelessness in addition to sending the usual Christmas gifts or cards. In recognition of this support, business logos feature in the Simon House of Light show.
Dublin Simon Community’s Scrappy but Happy exhibition of client artwork and poetry will also continue to run inside Powerscourt Townhouse Centre throughout November and December, with artwork available for purchase.
