DUBLIN STARS ARE A SHOE IN FOR SIMON COMMUNITY FUN RUN
GAA legend & Fair City star call on public to sign up and support Simon
Former Dublin GAA dual star Conal Keaney and soap actress Amilia Clarke Stewart came out to support the Dublin Simon Community today as it launched its 2016 Simon Fun Run.
The Ballyboden St. Enda’s man and the Carrigstown resident are encouraging the public to grab their running shoes on October 1st and run, walk, dance or skip around the Phoenix Park at the 33rd Simon Fun Run.
Speaking about the Simon Fun Run, Conal said;
“I’m delighted to show my support for the Dublin Simon Community and the upcoming 2016 Simon Fun Run. Health and fitness play a big part in my life and I’d encourage people to sign up and participate in the 33rd annual Fun Run on Saturday, 1st October. It’s a great day out for both serious athletes and families just looking for a fun weekend. Most importantly it’s a fantastic way to raise vital funds for the Dublin Simon Community and help people experiencing homelessness.”
Amilia added by saying;
“The Dublin Simon Community do amazing work for people experiencing homelessness. I’m thrilled to support their upcoming Simon Fun Run and I would call on everyone to head out to the Phoenix Park this October 1st and participate in the race. People can run, skip, dance or whatever they want on the day, and that’s what makes the Simon Fun Run so special.”
Conal and Amilia were joined on the day by Katie Byrne (9) from Clondalkin, Phonsie Wardell (7) from Wicklow, and Coleen Brennan (6) from Kildare.
